Limoncello Vodka Cooler

Limoncello Vodka Cooler

Limoncello Vodka Cooler. Sweet Limoncello, a hit of vodka and lots of ice make this the perfect summer cooler for those hot summer days and nights.

[social_share/] Yum

YAY!! Its the weekend! We’re suppose to have rain all weekend but the weather man seems to be wrong ALOT lately!! So fingers crossed he is this weekend to. And I plan on drinking a few of these Limoncello Vodka Coolers which would make the day sunny regardless!!

Limoncello Vodka Cooler

Limoncello is a lemon liqueur made in southern Italy. It’s lemony and sweet and can easily be sipped on its own. I happen to love frosted glass and most Limoncello comes in a frosted glass bottle which of course adds to the appeal. I wanted a cocktail that wasn’t overly sweet so in with the Vodka. The two together are bright, refreshing and that color come on!!

My favorite thing about the Limoncello Vodka Cooler is that its so simple to make. Equal parts Limoncello to Vodka and lots of ice!! A little lemon garnish doesn’t hurt either, it adds some fancy schmancy to the glass and who couldn’t use a little of that? 😉

Rain or shine I plan on enjoying a few of these with family and friends. I hope you join me.

Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 2.5 oz. 1/3 cup Limoncello
  • 2.5 oz. 1/3 cup Vodka
  • Ice
  • Lemon for garnish

Instructions

  • Fill glass to the very top with ice.
  • In a cocktail shaker add the Limoncello and Vodka, shake to mix.

Notes

This cocktail is similar in strength to a martini. If you prefer a lighter drink you can cut the vodka in half and substitute with sprite or club soda.

Doesn’t Limoncello already have Vodka in it?

Hi Sharon, yes Limoncello is made with Vodka or Grappa. Limoncello can certainly be sipped on its own but it is rich so I use a smaller glass, I like mine over a little ice. Take care 🙂

These were super easy but very strong. I made one with vodka and one with lemon vodka. We both preferred the lemon vodka. Next time I will use a little more vodka and a little more of the other, but these had a fabulous flavor! If you like strong drinks, don’t modify.

Hi Marie! Im so glad you liked this cocktail. Lemon vodka is a great suggestion. These are on the stronger side your right about that, this is not a wimpy drink. I sip mine slowly with snacks 😉 . Take care.

Love Limoncello..love Vodka…will try your recipe soon. Just FYI “a lot” is two separate words, not one word “ALOT” as your post shows above. We wouldn’t spell a bunch “ABUNCH”. A lot of people make this mistake.

Thanks Glo, appreciate the correction. This sparked an interesting debate with my family, we all thought it was alot but even spell check states otherwise 😉 , it was a fun conversation. Take care.

Could this be made in a larger batch, like in a punch bowl for a group of people rather than individually shaken?

Hi Connie, Yes, it certainly could. I haven’t done it personally, the drink itself is equal parts vodka and limoncello so I would follow the same principle for the larger batch. It is a strong cocktail though, so if you want it a little weaker for the masses you may want to add club soda/Sprite, etc. plus this will make it stretch a little longer to. Cheers! 🙂
