Heirloom Tomato and Radish Salad. Fresh colorful Heirloom Tomatoes and a delightful array of crunchy, bity, radishes enrobed in a citrus vinegarette.
[social_share/]Yum
I think Heirloom Tomatoes are one of natures most beautiful creations. From the color variations to the organic shapes, each one is uniquely different and beautiful. They are the perfect selection to welcome in the much desired summer weather and lunch on the deck while soaking in the rays and sounds of summer.
Across the aisle from the Heirlooms were the perfectly colorful and unique “Breakfast Radishes”. Each one is of a different color, height and shape, much like the tomatoes. They almost looked magical sitting there, like they were from a fairy tale garden.
I can imagine the Heirlooms and the radishes longingly staring at each other, hoping to meet, to be paired together. Lucky for them I was shopping that day and thought they would make the perfect couple.
I started by thinly slicing the Heirlooms and then arranging them on the plate in such a way that each unique color shown through. Then I repeated the same with the radishes which shown its color on the edges while exposing the clearest white centers.
I gave the salad a sprinkling of cilantro because I never say no to cilantro, some crunchy celery and then a fresh grind of salt and pepper.
For the dressing I opted for a simple citrus vinegarette. A little lemon, lime, dijon and evoo.
I would love to take full credit for this salad but really I owe it all to mother nature this week. So cheers to this beautiful bounty of colorful, seasonal goodness!
Enjoy!

That’s just beautiful. And I imagine the crunch is an added pleasure. My cherry tomatoes are just ripening now. Can’t wait for the big ones to ripen!
