So October has proven to be a super busy month already. Though we are already only few days in I feel like we’ve spent a month here already. October is a busy birthday month and I have to dedicate this post to Mom, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! That’s right we are celebrating my mom’s birthday. She reminded me of a child in school, the day before the big day she asked me to make some cupcakes to take to her friends at work. I was really glad she asked for vanilla/vanilla. I was pressed for time but do love making cupcakes because everyone loves eating them!

I love, love, love homemade frosting and though I love cake, if I had to choose between the two frosting will always win! My favorite simple go to icing is a Classic Vanilla Buttercream Frosting! Butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract and a little milk is all you need. All you do is cream the butter, add sugar in small increments while alternating with the milk as needed, then add vanilla, mix a little more and done! This frosting is fabulous on cakes, ice creams, in macarons, on graham crackers or (I hate to admit it) all by itself if you can handle it.

The frosting is nice and stiff for piping and decorating. The flavor is pure heaven and it melts like, well….butter with each delicious bite.
Next time you reach for the canned frosting (no judgement I promise, we’ve all done it!) keep this simple recipe in mind and enjoy every single creamy, sweet, buttery bite!
Enjoy!
