Classic Vanilla Buttercream Frosting. A simple American classic icing that goes good on everything from cakes to cookies.

  • 2 lbs confectioners sugar
  • 1 cup butter at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla extract


  • In a large mixing bowl cream butter.
  • Start adding sugar in small increments. Alternating with milk as needed.
  • Add vanilla extract. Mix until completely smooth and creamy.


This makes enough to generously ice 24 cupcakes.
